Hi, I brought this product; one to record of a sky box onto hard drive and two, for it to maybe act as a NAS drive (Which I'll admit the product description didn't not state anything about you being able to use it as a NAS Drive, but it is also did not state anything saying it wouldn't function as one and as it was wireless and had a LAN Port I assumed it would work as one!) I'll warn you now it will not function as a NAS drive because the software blocks other networks from accessing it, and the connection can only be used for playing media off servers etc. Also you probably would want to use it a NAS Drive because it is quite noisy and the light is quite bright (It is especially significant if you have it recording in your room at night like me. but I suppose you get used to it) although it doesn't generate that much heat. The other thing I have noticed it at the begining of the recordings they are sometimes a bit jumpy when playing them back on the player. Personally I don't think the hardware is upto some of the jobs we ask it to do because the media player is also a bit slow functioning. If my theory is correct it would explain why theres such a poor reception with the remote, but it could still be just the remote as I think an universal remote works much better! Oh yes, just one more thing a bit mis-leading in the description, which is the multi-way transfer (It will become clear in my custom description) My custom description: CYCLONE HDMI LAN Hard Drive Media Player, Recorder: Just connect to your PC via the USB cable provided and copy media content to your media player. OR plug your USB flash drive into the usb 2.0 port and use the built in file copier to transfer files from your flash drive or network places. No computer required! Compatible with most windows opearating systems with out a driver Plug USB devices in to extend storage or copy media. Partition hard drive in the supported NTFS or FAT32 filesystems Record from any AV Input Supported formats listed above. All in all this is a good product and if the description was right to start with I would of been more satisfied with the delivered product! If your looking to record of an input, keep it, and play all kinds of media, this product is very useful and worth buying!!
